TEHRAN — Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qassemi, Tehran mayor Pirouz Hanachi and a group of foreign diplomatic delegations planted trees as a sign of friendship and peace in Tehran Book Garden on Sunday.

The trees were planted on the occasion of the Arbor Day, known as National Tree Planting Day in Iran.

National Tree Planting Day, is annually celebrated on the fifteenth day of Esfand, the last month on the Iranian calendar, which usually corresponds with March 6. The day marks the beginning of National Week of Natural Resources (March 6-13).
