TEHRAN — Some 67 villages in Rigan, the southeastern province of Kerman, are severely hit by sand and dust storms causing a great deal of discomfort for the residents, Rigan governor has said.

The sand and dust storms starting on Saturday morning have given rise to respiratory problems as well, Amin Baqeri regretted.

Baqeri further highlighted that all healthcare centers, as well as hospitals, are offering services to affected residents, IRNA news agency reported.

Sand and dust storms have displaced residents of 16 villages in Rigan so far, he lamented, adding that the current budget is not sufficient to tackle the issue in the regions.
