TEHRAN – The government of South Korea has provided an assistance of relief items for families affected by Kermanshah earthquake, Shahaboldin Sabounchi, an official with the Red Crescent Society (IRCS) has announced.

On November 12, 2017, a destructive earthquake measuring 7.3 on the Richter scale hit Sarpol-e Zahab in the western province of Kermanshah. Some 90,000 houses were partly or completely damaged by the tremor. Sadly, the quake took over 660 lives and left more than 10,000 injured.
“The South Korea’s donations include 38 personal hygiene product items such as shampoos, washing machines powder, hand wash liquid, soap, facial moisturizers and other female hygiene products, which is distributed among quake affected people based on field studies conducted by experts,” Sabounchi said.
Along with the aforesaid items, the donations from Tehrani residents will be distributed among the children and adults which include clothing, footwear, toys and stationary in the next coming weeks, he said, IRNA reported on Wednesday.
Some 40,000 stationery packages made of high quality domestic products, have been provided to students living in rural earthquake-hit areas of Kermanshah and Sistan-Baluchestan provinces, he stated, adding that the packages first were distributed on November 4, and then on November 12, concurrent with the first anniversary of Kermanshah earthquake.
