Police seize historical relics in northern Iran

TEHRAN - Iranian authorities have recently confiscated 10 historical objects from five unauthorized diggers in Behshahr, northern Mazandaran province, CHTN reported on Saturday. 

“Of the recovered objects nine are considered as historical and one dates from the Islamic era… some of the objects date back to the Iron Age and authenticity of them have been confirmed by experts,” Seifollah Farzaneh, the provincial tourism chief, said.

The relics include a brass bowl, silver cup and bronze objects, the official added.

The five illegal diggers were detained in this regard and surrendered to judicial system for further investigation.
