Iranian, world neuroscience experts to convene in Tehran

TEHRAN — The Basic and Clinical Neuroscience Congress 2018, as the largest convention of neuroscience experts in the country, will be held on December 12-14 in Tehran, Mehr news agency reported on Wednesday.

Iranian Neuroscience Society, in collaboration with a number of universities and Cognitive Sciences & Tegnologies Council have organized the congress which is held for the 7th time this year and and is hosted by Iran University of Medical Sciences, according to Ali Shahbazi, the congress’s scientific director.

Shahbazi said the congress is set to convene experts in fields of neurology, neurosurgery, psychotherapy, psychology, sociology, computer and electronics to share the latest trends in neuroscience. 

Experts from Germany, France, England and Turkey as well as prominent local professers will give lectures at the congress.   

He described the convention as a great opportunity for scientisits as well as students in clinical and non-clinical fields to assemble under the headline of neuroscience and exchange their knowledge of human mind and brain.

This year’s congress, he added, pays special attention to practical studies and aims to develop specific pannels to expand the usage of neuroscience in a variety of fields. 

He said neuroscience findings can help develop a pathological view toward social communications, so its results can be used in human sciences such as law, philosophy and art. This congress, he added, seeks to pay specific attention to such underdeveloped areas by building a bridge between neuroscience and human sciences.
