TEHRAN -- Iran’s Ministry of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has proposed the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) to set standards for social responsibility in cyberspace.

ICT Minister Mohammad Javad Azari Jahromi met with ISO Secretary General Sergio Mujica in Tehran on Thursday, Mehr reported.

Some standards should be provided for promoting cybersecurity for kids, Azari Jahromi said.

The ICT Ministry is ready to further cooperation with the ISO in such fields, he added.

Mujica said that Iran can submit the proposal on social responsibility in cyberspace through ISO technical committee.

Standardization in the field of information technology, cyberspace and cybersecurity of children are very necessary issues.

ISO is an independent, non-governmental international organization with a membership of 162 national standards bodies.

Through its members, it brings together experts to share knowledge and develop voluntary, consensus-based, market relevant International Standards that support innovation and provide solutions to global challenges.
