Dozens killed as tanker collides with bus in western Iran

TEHRAN — At least 11 were killed after a naphtha tanker collided with a passenger bus in the city of Sanandaj, western province of Kordestan, IRNA news agency reported.
The tanker’s brakes reportedly stopped working and it crashed into the passenger bus which had stopped right outside the bus terminal at midnight and resulted in a massive explosion, the report stated.
There is still no exact details on the number of casualties and fatalities. Based on some unofficial reports the death toll has increased to 20 and some 9 are injured.
The explosion was so violent that cars around the bus were affected by it.
Three days of mourning having been declared in Kordestan following the tragedy.
