Aerospace products to hit market in Iran

TEHRAN – Several projects are under construction to finally introduce Iranian aerospace products to the market, Manuchehr Manteqi, head of the headquarters for knowledge-based aerospace technologies told the Mehr news agency on Thursday.

The design and production of 8 passenger helicopters dubbed “Saba 248” are 90 percent complete. Single-engine piston helicopter “Sourena” project is 80 percent complete, he announced.

The project of twin engine piston airplanes “Fajr 33” is done 82.4 percent and the project for converting Tupolev Tu-154 to firefight aircraft is done 81 percent, he added.

He also pointed to the airborne surveillance radar project which has progressed 34 percent.
The headquarters aims to develop production and technologies, which meet national demands in recent years.

Iran also plans to establish a national aerospace market in the near future to introduce aerospace industry products, services, technologies and software.

Manteqi previously said that the market aims to support knowledge enterprises active in the field of aerospace industry and develop market for demanded products. 
Aerospace is the human effort in science, engineering and business to fly in the atmosphere of Earth (aeronautics) and surrounding space (astronautics). Aerospace organizations research, design, manufacture, operate, or maintain aircraft or spacecraft. 


Aerospace manufacturing is a high-technology industry that produces aircraft, guided missiles, space vehicles, aircraft engines, propulsion units, and related parts.
