Ahvaz to host handicrafts sales exhibit
TEHRAN – The southwestern city of Ahvaz, Khuzestan province, will host a four-day handicrafts sales exhibition in June.
“The provincial department of the Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization will host the event from June 10, which marks the World Handicrafts Day,” CHTN reported.
20 artisans who are natives of the city will promote their works that includes traditional textiles, woodworks, potteries, metal works, embroidery pieces and personal ornamentation sets.
Earlier this month, CHHTO Director Ali-Asghar Mounesan said that Iran exported $280 million worth of handicrafts during the past Iranian calendar year, which ended on March 20.
Dozens of Iranian handicrafts have gained the UNESCO Seal of Excellence during the past couple of years.
