Centuries-old engraved pulpit unveiled in northern Iran

TEHRAN – A Centuries-old pulpit bearing engraved decoration was unveiled on Monday at a mosque in Arangeh village, northern Alborz province.

The pulpit, which ascends six steps, dates from 750 years ago and techniques employed in its adornment include woodwork and strapwork based on geometric designs. It bears exclusive engravings from the Holy Quran verses as well, ISNA reported.

Alborz Governor General Mohammad-Ali Najafi and several other provincial officials attended the unveiling ceremony, which was held at the Lat-Qazi mosque of the ancient village.
