Mauritanian health minister visits Tehran

TEHRAN – Mauritanian Health and Social Affairs Minister Boubacar Kane arrived in Tehran on Friday in a bid to boost cooperation with Iran in health sector, the official website of the Iranian Health Ministry reported.

The visit was made upon the official invitation of Iranian Health Minister Hassan Qazizadeh-Hashemi, said Mohsen Asadi-Lari, the deputy health minister in international affairs.

The main aim of his visit is to get acquainted with the Iranian health system and use Iran’s experiences and technology in health sector, he highlighted.

Some memorandums of understanding are expected to be inked between Iran and Mauritania in different health-related areas such as pharmaceuticals, medical equipment and education, Asadi-Lari explained.

Asadi-Lari went on to say that Professor Kane plans to visit some medical centers, medical research institutes and pharmaceutical companies during his stay in Iran.

The Mauritanian minister is expected to meet with Iranian Health Ministry and Red Crescent officials as well, he concluded.
