$100m allotted to address social vulnerabilities

TEHRAN — Majlis (the Iranian parliament) has earmarked some 4.5 trillion rials (nearly $100 million) for dealing with social vulnerabilities within the framework of the budget bill for the next calendar year, starting on March 21, Mehr reported on Saturday.

The money is allocated to schemes to identify and address social vulnerabilities with a special attention to drug addicts, divorced families, working children, female breadwinners, and people living in shanty towns, MP Rasoul Khezri said. 

Moreover, Khezri has explained that the administration has proposed a 30-trillion-rial (nearly $670 million) budget for ending poverty which is yet to be approved.
