TEHRAN – The budget allocated to female breadwinners has not been cut, it has not been received yet, vice president for women’s and family affairs said, IRNA reported on Friday.

The proposed national budget bill for the next Iranian calendar year 1397, starting on March 21, 2018, has approved 210 billion rials ($5.25 million) for women’s affairs with an increase of 30 percent year on year, Masoumeh Ebtekar said, regretting, but the problem is with getting the budget.

“Although all executive authorities are helping to overcome the problems of female breadwinners, more efforts are needed to receive this budget,” she said, adding, “We hope that Majlis [the Iranian parliament] will support us in this regard.”

According to official reports, more than 2.5 million female breadwinners live in Iran 70 percent of whom don’t have an appropriate job and need support for employment issues.
