TEHRAN – A team of Iranian researches and archeologists will examine ancient mudbrick Pa Minar Mosque, which is located in Zaware, central Isfahan province.
Archeological evidence suggests that the mosque might be erected on the vestiges of an ancient fire temple, ISNA quoted Mohammadreza Saduqi, a provincial tourism official, as saying on Friday.
Its minaret, which bears a Kufic inscription in brick, is one of the oldest in the country.
Narratives say the minaret makes part of a Seljuk mosque, which has been restored during the Il-Khanid period.
