Iran’s tourism potentials, traditions in limelight at Paris festival
TEHRAN - Tourism potentials of Iran, its rich cultural heritage, traditions, and handicrafts are under the spotlight at the 39th IFTM Top Resa, a four-day French tourism exhibit that comes to an end on September 29 at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles.
Iran’s Travel Marketers in France along with some 15 tourism-associated businesses and tour operators including Aito Iran Tours, Eavar, Marcopolo Voyages Company, Ghoghnos Travel Agency are contributing to the event, CHTN reported on Wednesday.
The Touring & Automobile Club of the Islamic Republic of Iran (TACI) under the auspices of the Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts Organization is running the country’s booth, which is also holding variety of live performances, exhibits, meetings, and workshops on handicrafts.
“The Iran pavilion’s area will be increased by 100 percent to 99 square meters thanks to significant welcome of participants last year,” IRNA quoted TACI Director Ebadreza Eslami as saying earlier in June.
Iran hosts some of the world’s oldest cultural monuments, including 22 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and its varied terrain ranges from desert locales to ski resorts.
Founded in 1978, the event is estimated to attract over 30,000 professional visitors form more than 1,600 brands at its vast venue, the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles. Today, IFTM Top Resa has become a multi target trade show for all travel segments: leisure, business and events.
