Gorgan to host culinary festival
TEHRAN – Gorgan, the capital of Golestan Province in northern Iran, will host a culinary festival from August 2 to 4.
The event comes as part of nationwide campaign for promoting gastronomy tourism, Mehr reported on Saturday.
Titled “Iranian Cuisine, Tourism Culture”, the festival will turn the spotlight on local appetizers, desserts, herbal drinks, and main courses dominated by indigenous dishes.
Organized by the province’s Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts Department, the event will also embrace cooks and chefs from Mazandaran, Gilan, and Qazvin provinces, as well.
The Iranian cuisine, usually dominated with fragrant herbs, varies from region to region, but it principally accentuates freshness, deliciousness, and colorfulness.
