Iran, Kyrgyzstan agree to boost health ties
TEHRAN – Iran’s Health Minister Hassan Qazizadeh-Hashemi and his Kyrgyz counterpart Talantbek Batyraliev discussed boosting cooperation during a meeting in Bishkek on Monday.
Working groups were established to follow up on three agreements signed in the field of health, Qazizadeh-Hashemi said in an interview with the Kyrgyz National TV, IRNA reported.
Treatment and hospital service fields, laboratory equipment and laboratory supplies, medical education and research, healthcare, preventing infectious and non-contagious diseases and development of healthcare networks were included in the agreements.
Iranian and Kyrgyz private sectors should do their best to take advantage of opportunities, he said.
The two countries have several communalities in culture and history and by signing these agreements we pave the way for more cooperation between Iran and Kyrgyzstan, he added.
The Iranian minister also visited some health centers in Bishkek and held talks with officials on further cooperation.
