TEHRAN — All transplant surgeries will be conducted free of charge as of the next Iranian calendar month, starting August 22, the deputy health minister has said.

All the transplant surgeries’ expenses will be covered by the insurance companies, Mohammad Aqajani said, Tasnim news agency reported on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Health Ministry spokesman Iraj Harirchi stated patients are not obliged to pay anything anymore unlike past when they’d have to pay for at least some of the expenses varying depending on the kind of surgery.
