Iran to partake in RoboCup 2016

TEHRAN – The RoboCup 2016, a contraction of Robot Soccer World Cup, will kick off tomorrow in Leipzig, Germany, while Iran is one of the participants out of the 45 countries in the competitions, IRNA reported on Tuesday.

The 5-day event will host over 200 teams from various universities and institutes worldwide.

This year Iran has introduced three teams in three different leagues: intelligent humanoid, soccer playing robots as well as rescue robot simulator.

RoboCup is an annual international robotics competition proposed and founded in 1997. The aim is to promote robotics and AI research, by offering a publicly appealing, but formidable challenge.
