TEHRAN – Professor Majid Samii, the distinguished Iranian neurosurgeon and medical scientist, has said that the only route to success is through scientific research.

Hailed for his medical contribution to neuroscience as the head of the world-renowned International Neuroscience Institute (INI), based in Hanover, Germany, Samii called on university professors in Iran to contribute more to the world of knowledge.

Making the remarks on Saturday at the Shiraz University of Medical Sciences, southern Iran, Sameii expressed delight to deliver his speech in a city where great achievements in neurology were made, particularly in the modern science of brain and nervous system, IRNA reported.

The knowledge transferred through inheritance in medicine from ancestors, Samii said, is no longer sufficient. “Therefore, college professors and physicians in the country should help build upon the wall of medical knowledge one brick at a time.”

Addressed the audience, mostly medical staff, Samii enjoined “not to even rely on today’s knowledge, but to produce it.”

The prominent doctor invited Iranian students to tap into the rewards and power of working hard and find their drive and motives to acquire higher education.

He urged college pupils to step up efforts and turn the stumbling blocks into stepping stones.

The 78-year-old doctor then highlighted the power of knowledge and called it a better treasure than financial wealth.
