Tehran hosting intl. Health in Emergencies and Disasters congress

TEHRAN — The 7th International Congress on Health in Emergencies and Disasters kicked off on Wednesday in Tehran, IRIB reported.

The executive secretary of the congress, Mohammad Raeeszadeh, noted that the biennial congress is being held in attendance of representatives from countries such as Germany, Sweden, India, Iraq, England, Pakistan, and Bangladesh.

The congress will last until Friday and Iran’s medical sciences universities’ chancellors, chief of Iran Red Crescent's Relief and Rescue Organization, head of Iran's Red Crescent Society, and director of Iran’s Crisis Management Organization, attend the first day of the congress.

The event aims to take some steps towards the goals, policies and actions of organizations involved in disaster management in the country and to boost coordination, cooperation and solidarity in the promotion of people's health and excellence in all aspects of the country.

Some of the main topics of the congress are comprehensive health management, social and international participation, ethics in coordination and collaboration, and safety culture and safety promotion in injury prevention approach in emergencies and disasters.
