TEHRAN -- Reaching a true recognition of, and gaining a correct insight into women's true status and dignity is only possible through following the lives of exemplary women in the history of Islam -- specially Hazrat-e Fatemeh Zahra (AS), the Chairman of the Expediency Council, Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, said Wednesday in a message to the Congress on Fatemeh (AS) held in Tabriz. In the message, Rafsanjani called on Moslem scholars, writers, and specially prominent and learned women to define "the Muslim woman's real status as inspired by the example left by Hazrat-e Fatemeh Zahra (AS)." "By reviving the true status of women in the family and society, Muslim scholars can take long, confident steps toward true realization of women rights." In his message the chairman of the Expediency Council adds that "Undoubtedly, lack of information on the ideological and practical aspects of Islamic luminaries' life results in instability in family foundations and the emergence of moral decay in the society, examples of which are readily observable in various abnormalities present in Western societies."
The message adds: "Not only society's health and moral security are based on proper family upbringing, but also the preservation and development of national strength and political, economic and cultural independence have roots in the stability of the family foundation.
