Ardebil Monuments, Major Tourist Attraction
Announcing this, the Deputy Head of Ardebil Province Cultural Heritage Department, Alireza Dabbaq Abdollahi, said here on Wednesday that 119,903 tourists visited the historical complex of Sheikh Safieddin Ardebili mausoleum while the rest toured Ardebil's Anthropological Complex.
Abdollahi told IRNA that out of the said number, some 625 were foreign tourists and the remaining were iranian tourists, researchers, students and scholars.
The historical Complex of Sheikh Safieddin Ardebili located at Ali-Qapu Square in central Ardebil is one of Iran's 10 significant historical monuments.
Ardebil's Anthropological Complex is situated in the northwestern flank of Ali-Qapu Square at the site of the ancient Aqa-Naqi Bathhouse.
The archaic objects and statues manifest the custom and tradition of earlier residents of the area.
