Intl. Islam and Christianity Conference Opens in Moscow

TEHRAN - The 12th Islam and Christianity Conference opened yesterday in Moscow.

Promoting and strengthening consensus among Muslims and Christians, Russia's outlook toward the Islamic world, Eastern viewpoints on Christianity, as well as bilateral cooperation between the East and Russia in the political, social, and economic fields are among the topics being discussed at the conference.

The director of the World Assembly for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought (WAPIST), Ayatollah Taskhiri, from the Islamic Republic of Iran, as well as several prominent political, cultural, and religious figures from across the world are attending the conference.

The conference continues until September 11.
