Iran-Turkey Trade Volume Up 25 Percent

ANKARA -- Iran-Turkey trade volume reached $239.72 million in the first quarter of 2002, showing more that 25 percent decline compared to the figure the same period the year before which was $321.71 million.

Turkish state statistics institute said in a report, a copy of which was made available to IRNA, that Turkey's exports to Iran in the first three months of the year amounted to $65.839 million.

Turkey's imports from Iran in the period under study exceeded $173.881 million in value.

Turkey's exports to Iran in the first three months of last year stood at $70.378 million while its imports from the country stood at $251.332 million.

In March 2002, Turkey's exports to Iran equalled $19.747 million and its imports from the country $lrs 76.466 million.

Turkey's exports to Iran in March 2001 stood at $20.049 million and its imports from Iran at $]2.502 million.

Iran-Turkey trade volume in the year 2001 showed 13.48 percent growth compared to 2000, standing at $1.193 billion.

Turkey's exports in the first quarter of 2002 equalled $7.726 billion, up by 5.9 percent, and its imports stood at $9.674 billion, down by 10.2 percent.
