Oil Ministry Supports Clean Air Day Initiative

TEHRAN - Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh said nomination of February 18 as the Clean Air Day is a valuable measure to attract further attention of both the people and the officials towards protection of the environment. In an statement issued Tuesday night, Namdar Zanganeh said his ministry, keeping pace with all environmental bodies, has spared no effort in preservation of the environment.
He said that the Oil Ministry has taken effective steps in this direction by employing advanced technology in the production, refining and distribution of fuel up to environmental standards and through speeding up implementation of city gas projects, encouraging people to use unleaded petrol and shifting car fuels to gas. The minister noted that low price of oil products has resulted in uncontrolled consumption of energy and wastage of national wealth of the generations to come.
