Woman Chess Players to Clash in Spain: Mousavi

TEHRAN The woman chess players of Iran will participate in World Under-18 Chess Festival in Spain, IRNA said. The head of Chess Association said, "The women would participate in the third Muslim Women's Games," adding that 12 top chess players were selected as the main and substitute members during the competitions. The players picked for women's national chess team are Shadi Paridar, Shayesteh Qaderpour, Shirin Navabi, Atoussa Pour-Kashian, Fariba Ali-Nouri, Yerazik Khachatourian, Shohreh Bayat, Mehrnoush Zavar-Mousavi, Anahita Fotovat-Eskandari, Anet Azadkhanian, Shiva Mahboubi, and Elena Baba-Khanloo, revealed the official continuing that the first four players are the main members of national team. She added, "Since the Spain-based world competitions and the third Muslim Women's Games will be held simultaneously, the hopefuls will be dispatched to Spain and the best chess players will be selected for the Women's Games."
