TEHRAN Parties should serve national interests and strive to overcome the notion that parties are inefficient and function negatively, said the Interior Minister Abdolvahed Mousavi Lari on Saturday.

Addressing a group of party activists, Lari said that the parties should contribute to reform of elections law and stressed systematic activities to strengthen national sovereignty.

Also in the session, the Head of the Central Council of the Parties' House Mousavi Tabrizi called on Majlis to be actively involved in the general assembly sessions of parties.

Tabrizi said that Parties' House is a suitable center for establishment of solidarity and understanding among parties, wings and intellectual bodies.
