Majlis Speaker Pays Homage to Tir 7 Martyrs

TEHRAN Majlis Speaker Mahdi Karrubi on Wednesday paid tribute to the Iranian officials who were martyred in the course of a bomb blast on Tir 7 (June 28, 1981).

On Tir 7 in 1981 ex-chief justice Ayatollah Mohammad-Hossein Beheshti and 72 top officials were martyred as a result of a bomb blast at the headquarters of the former Islamic Republic Party planted by the terrorist Mojahedin Khalq Organization (MKO).

Referring to activities of the opposition groups for confrontation with the Islamic Revolution and the Islamic Republic system during early years following the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution, Karrubi said that the most damage hit by the terrorist MKO was Tir 7 explosion during which the most outstanding officials of the system attained martyrdom.

The speaker vowed that all officials will continue the path of martyrs and the founder of the Islamic Republic the late Imam Khomeini.

Praising the attitude and activities of martyr Beheshti particularly in the Judiciary system, he said that the judicial officials should take martyr Beheshti as an example for their activities.

Karrubi further expressed his condolences to the bereaved families of the martyrs of Tir 7, officials of the Judiciary, Majlis deputies and the Iranian nation.
