TEHRAN Several Greek thinkers and scholars have praised Imam Khomeini's struggles for reshaping history in the interest and benefit of the people of Iran and other peoples of the world.

They were speaking at a ceremony to mark the 12th anniversary of the demise of the late Leader of the Islamic Revolution and Founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran held at the Iranian Cultural Center in Athens Wednesday night.

Theologian and writer George Moustakis noted that Imam Khomeini was a personality possessing many unique leadership characteristics which he put into service not only for his own people but for the benefit of other peoples also.

He said Imam Khomeini succeeded with the help of God to spread the revolutionary message of the holy Qoran out of the mosques to the streets.

The Iranian cultural counselor, Gholamreza Nourmohammadan, welcomed the large number of guests, Greeks and Iranians, who attend the ceremony.

Also, a great number of Muslims residing in Brazil gathered at San Paolo's Islamic forum Thursday to praise the great personality of Imam Khomeini.

The ceremonies were held on the anniversary of the late Imam Khomeimi's demise and the memory of Khordad 15 (June 5, 1963) uprising.

After reciting some Qoranic verses, one of the Muslims referred to the influence of Khordad 15 uprising, led by Imam Khomeini on revival of Islam's grandeur. They praised Imam Khomeini's characteristics and resistance, and recalled him as the leader of the world Muslims.
