Iran, Syria To Promote Trade Relations

Damscus, Syria The visiting Iranian Housing Minister Abdul Alizadeh and Syrian Minister for Economy and Foreign Trade, Mohammad Al-Imadi Wednesday co-chaired a meeting of joint Irano-Syrian Committee for economic and commercial cooperation. The two sides discussed the existing trends of economic relations between the two countries and explored fresh avenues for promoting economic and commercial cooperation between them. A member of the Iranian delegation told TEHRAN TIMES that several proposals are at the table for discussion by the two sides.
He said that letters of understanding and agreements are to be signed by the two sides before the Iranian delegations leaves here for Beirut today. Alizadeh arrived here as part of an Iranian delegation headed by Iranian Majlis Speaker Ali Akbar Nateq-Nouri on Tuesday for a three-day visit.
