President, Cabinet Ministers Pay Tribute to Imam Khomeini

TEHRAN President Mohammad Khatami and his Cabinet ministers here Saturday renewed allegiance to the Founder of the Islamic Republic, late Imam Khomeini, by laying a wreath at his mausoleum. Felicitating the Iranian nation on the anniversary of the triumph of the 1979 Islamic Revolution, the president told reporters that by experiencing 19 years of great developments, the Iranian people are now able to determine their own fate.
The nation should be grateful to Almighty God for the great achievements they have made within such a short period of time, said the president, adding that the progress made by Iran in domestic and international fields are incomparable with those of the past. However, there still remains a long way to go to achieve the desired objectives, said the president.
During the ceremony, the president and his Cabinet members commemorated the memory of late Ahmad Khomeini, son of Imam Khomeini. (IRNA)
