ROME Pope John Paul II has said that Vatican wishes to hold dialog and increase cooperation between the Catholic church and the Muslims and will make all efforts to achieve this end. In a message expected to be sent to the Muslims of the world to mark the end of the holy month of Ramazan, the pope has also called for a peace pact between the faithful followers of the divine religions of Christianity and Islam. Announcing this Tuesday, the head of the Pontifical Council for Inter-Religious Dialog, Francis Arinze said that in his message the pope called for ties between Islam and Christianity to give more hope to humanity.
For this very reason, we should accept the existing differences between Islam and Christianity, respect and love each other from the bottom of our hearts, he added. Pope John Paul II sends greetings every year to Muslims throughout the world to mark the end of the holy month of Ramazan. The complete text of this year's message has not yet been released.
