Retaliation in sight: Hezbollah to target “heart of Tel Aviv”
TEHRAN- Hezbollah's Secretary-General Naim Qassem said on Wednesday that the resistance movement will retaliate the recent deadly Israeli strikes on the Lebanese capital by targeting the “heart of Tel Aviv”.
"The response must be expected on central Tel Aviv," Qassem said in a speech on Wednesday.
Referring to a US-proposed ceasefire deal, he added that Hezbollah would not accept any truce that violates the Lebanese sovereignty.
Hezbollah seeks a "complete and comprehensive end to the (Israeli) aggression" and "the preservation of Lebanon's sovereignty... the Israeli enemy cannot enter (Lebanese territory) whenever it wants", Qassem said.
The Hezbollah chief noted, "Israel cannot defeat us and cannot impose its conditions on us."
He made the comments as US envoy Amos Hochstein concluded his two-day visit to Lebanon.
Hochstein met with Lebanese officials to discuss the US peace proposal for Lebanon.
Last week, Washington presented the drat agreement to Lebanon. It is supposedly aimed at ending Israel’s war on Lebanon.
Israeli strikes in Lebanon have killed more than 3,500 people since October last year.
