TEHRAN – A political and social aide to the governor of Iran’s Sistan and Balouchestan announced on Tuesday that Iranian President Masoud Pezehskian will be traveling to the region this week, embarking on his first visit to the southeastern province.

Pezehskian will be accompanied by ten members of his cabinet, Reza Sharifi said. He outlined the objectives of the upcoming trip and emphasized that two primary goals will guide the visit: introducing the province and ensuring that ongoing projects reach completion. The government aims to engage directly with the people through a public meeting with the President.

"The trip will carry two important messages," Sharifi stated. "First, it is a gesture of gratitude from the people for appointing a local governor, and second, it serves as a message from the system and the government to the residents of Sistan and Baluchestan."

The President's visit comes at a time when many projects in the province are ongoing. In a televised interview on September 1, Pezeshkian expressed his commitment to provincial trips and highlighted the importance of securing adequate funding for more projects in Iranian provinces.

Sharifi reiterated that the President’s upcoming one-day trip will be an opportunity for the government to listen to the concerns of the people and work towards finding viable solutions.
