Iran Defense Minister arrives in Damascus for military talks

TEHRAN – Iran's Minister of Defense Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh arrived in Damascus on Saturday at the official invitation of his Syrian counterpart as the two countries move to strengthen military cooperation. 

Upon his arrival, the Iranian minister emphasized the critical role that Syria plays in regional security and stability. “Everyone is aware of Syria's important position in the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran,” he stated. The discussions planned during this visit aim to address common issues, particularly in the realms of security and defense.

The Minister highlighted that meetings with key political and military officials in Syria will focus on enhancing cooperation and exchanging valuable experiences between the two nations. "Based on the recommendations of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, we are ready to provide all capabilities to friendly countries," he added, reaffirming Iran's commitment to supporting its allies in the region.
