IAEA Director General arrives in Tehran for talks
TEHRAN – Rafael Grossi, the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), arrived in Tehran on Wednesday.
Upon his aarival, Grossi was warmly received by Behrooz Kamalvandi, the spokesperson and Deputy for International, Legal, and Parliamentary Affairs of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI). Grossi, who is leading a high-level delegation, was given a formal welcome as part of his ongoing diplomatic efforts to engage with Iranian officials on nuclear-related matters.
Grossi's upcoming discussions in Tehran are set to build on the talks he held with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi during the United Nations General Assembly in September, according to a statement from the IAEA.
On October 31, the IAEA Director General announced on X that he had a "timely and substantive exchange" with Kazem Gharibabadi, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs, as part of the preparations for his visit to Iran.
This will be Grossi's first visit to Tehran since May.
