Political de-escalation, the first step for export growth: ICCIMA head
TEHRAN – The head of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA) believes that de-escalating political tensions is the first step towards economic growth for the Islamic Republic, the ICCIMA portal reported.
Samad Hassanzadeh said: "We are about 70 billion dollars behind the target for non-oil exports in the country’s 20-year vision plan", adding: “In order to resolve these shortcomings and return to the golden era of non-oil export growth, political de-escalation should be placed on the government's agenda, and interaction and cooperation with the world and membership in global value chains should become the governing policy.”
All over the world, export is the driving engine of economic development and a main factor for creating strong strategic links between countries, he said.
“Dynamic export creates productive employment and increases the attractiveness of investment for domestic and foreign economic operators, which leads to more production, national wealth and economic growth,” he added.
