Terrorist group dismantled upon arriving in Iran

TEHRAN – Iran’s intelligence forces identified and arrested a group of terrorists that had entered the country through its Western borders on Wednesday.

The terrorists are said to have been members of a separatist group residing in neighboring Iraq.  It appears that the individuals had infiltrated the borders, as one of the main members was killed during an armed confrontation with Iranian forces. The rest of the terrorists are now in custody.

Terrorists and separatists have ramped up their activities in and around Iran in recent years, with the majority of the outfits receiving funds and arms from the Israeli regime. Iran has been on a quest to tighten security measures at its borders, with Tehran and Baghdad signing a security pact last year that required Iraqi authorities to move terrorists away from the two countries’ shared borders.

Iran’s intelligence forces say more efforts are underway to neutralize terror centers.
