Spanish ambassador visits National Museum of Iran
TEHRAN – On Tuesday, the Spanish ambassador to Iran, Antonio Sánchez-Benedito, and his wife toured the National Museum of Iran.
They were accompanied by Jebrael Nokandeh, the museum’s director-general, and Ali Pakdaman, the former director-general of public diplomacy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The delegation visited the Iran Bastan Museum, emphasizing the exhibition of Achaemenid tablets, which returned to Iran from the U.S. recently.
Concluding the visit, Nokandeh presented two catalogs showcasing collaborative exhibitions between the Alicante Museum in Spain and the National Museum of Iran, highlighting the ongoing cultural exchange between the two countries.
Chock-full of priceless objects showcasing the juicy history of the nation, the National Museum showcases ceramics, pottery, stone figures, and carvings, mostly taken from excavations at Persepolis, Ismail Abad (near Qazvin), Shush, Rey, and Turang Tappeh to name a few.
