TEHRAN - The Hezbollah resistance movement launched a salvo of Fadi 1 missiles on Monday at the Israeli Karmal military base in Haifa, a major Mediterranean port.

Israel acknowledged that the missiles struck several areas in both Haifa and Tiberias. It also admitted that 12 people were injured several buildings were damaged.  

The strike was the first in which Hezbollah hit cities deep inside the occupied territories.

Hezbollah said the attack was in response to the massacres of civilians by Israel, saying that “the Islamic Resistance will remain ready to defend Lebanon and its steadfast, oppressed people.”

Hezbollah also said on Monday morning that it targeted a gathering of Israeli military vehicles and personnel at the Maroun al-Ras garden. Israel also admitted on Monday that it lost two military personnel as its army is making attempts to invade Lebanon. 

Hezbollah also said it targeted areas north of Haifa in a second salvo of missiles later on Monday. Israel's military acknowledged that around 135 projectiles had entered Israeli territory on Monday as of 5 p.m. (1400 GMT).

Striking Haifa, Israel’s third largest city, comes despite the fact that Hezbollah has lost notable figures, particularly its secretary general Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and top military commander Fouad Shokor among others.

Also, the strikes by Hezbollah just days after Israel committed back-to-back vicious terrorist moves in exploding pager and walkie talkies that the Washington Post revealed on Saturday had been in the making for nine years.

These acts coupled with incessant massive airstrikes on southern Beirut and some other cities have failed to demoralize Hezbollah. On the contrary they have made Hezbollah who has about 100,000 combatants more determined to fight back.

Most probably the Zionist regime under the leadership of Netanyahu had the illusion that it had succeeded to make Hezbollah incapable of dealing serious blows to Israel. But resistance movements, including Hezbollah, are not dependent on individuals.

Leading Professor John Mearsheimer from Chicago University firmly believes that Israel cannot liquidate Hezbollah.

Israel’s only advantage against Hezbollah and Palestinians are just its advanced fighter jets, including F-35s, that are provided by Israel. The occupation regime is only professional in killing civilians with 2000-ton bunker busters also provided by the United States.

The strike in the heart of Israel shows that Hezbollah not only has not lost its integrity and coherence after the September malicious moves but it has extended the domain of its operations.

The attack on Haifa is a game changer that shows Hezbollah has changed its strategy.

Through its bloody war on Hezbollah Israel intended to return those who had fled from the northern occupied territories to their homes but the course of events shows that Israel should think of sheltering more settlers. 

Israelis in the heart of occupied Palestine should tremble in fear though Hezbollah has so far refused to target civilians.
