Israeli psychological war will not yield victory over Resistance: Iran top security official

TEHRAN – In a statement made during a visit to Hezbollah's office in Tehran on Tuesday, Ali Akbar Ahmadian, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), emphasized that Israel’s psychological warfare would not help it achieve victory over the Resistance Front.

His remarks came during a meeting with Abdullah Safi al-Din, Hezbollah’s representative in Tehran, where he offered condolences following the martyrdom of Hezbollah's Secretary General, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.

Ahmadian asserted that Israel’s assassination of Nasrallah would only strengthen the Resistance's determination to confront the Zionist regime. He declared that Hezbollah would enter a new chapter of Resistance, with increased resolve to fight the Israeli occupation. "As we defended Hezbollah under the leadership of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, we will continue to defend it moving forward," Ahmadian assured.

Speaking to reporters, Ahmadian condemned the Israeli airstrike that killed Nasrallah, describing it as part of an escalating Israeli campaign against Hezbollah. He noted that despite Israeli aggression, including a limited ground offensive in Lebanon on Monday night, Israel was forced to retreat soon after.

"God willing, in the end, victory will belong to the Resistance," he added, expressing optimism about Hezbollah's future.

Ahmadian also reflected on the broader confrontation between the Resistance Front and Israel. He dismissed Israel's attempts to claim success through psychological operations, stating that these efforts are part of the regime's desperate reaction to the resistance’s actions.

Nasrallah was martyred on Friday when Israeli forces bombed a suburb of Beirut using U.S.-supplied weapons, further intensifying hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah.

The attack is part of a broader Israeli military campaign against Lebanon that began in October 2023, coinciding with its war on the Gaza Strip. Since the start of these hostilities, hundreds of Lebanese civilians have been killed, and Hezbollah has responded with retaliatory operations, including a hypersonic missile strike on Israeli-occupied Palestinian territories.

The Lebanese Resistance movement has vowed to continue its operations as long as Israel's Gaza offensive persists. So far, over 41,600 Palestinians—mostly women and children—have been killed in the Israeli onslaught.

Nasrallah, a prominent figure in the Resistance, became Hezbollah’s Secretary General in 1992 following the assassination of his predecessor, Sayyed Abbas al-Musawi, by an Israeli helicopter attack. His leadership has been pivotal in Hezbollah’s successes over the decades, including expelling Israeli forces from southern Lebanon in 2000.

Saeed Jalili says end of Israel is nearing

Saeed Jalili, a member of Iran's Expediency Council, predicted on Tuesday that Israel's regime will eventually collapse, with Hezbollah continuing to lead the Resistance with even greater resolve.

He made these comments during a visit to Hezbollah’s office in Tehran to offer his condolences following the assassination of Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.

Speaking to reporters, Jalili questioned why Israel had directed such intense aggression toward Lebanon and Beirut's southern Dahiya suburb, saying, "Why has the Zionist regime, with all its malice and strength, targeted Lebanon and the Dahiya suburb?" He praised Hezbollah's significant role in the region over recent decades, noting that the group had forced Israel out of southern Lebanon in the early 2000s.

Jalili went on to emphasize Hezbollah’s steadfast support for the Palestinian cause, specifically pointing out the group's solidarity with Hamas and Gaza over the past year. "This shows that the new regional order is being shaped by the resistance fighters," he said.

He added that Nasrallah's martyrdom has only further galvanized the Resistance movement, inspiring fighters to stand even more determined in their fight against Israeli aggression. Jalili described this moment as a pivotal shift for the resistance.

Former Iranian minister hails Nasrallah as symbol of leadership

Former Iranian Interior Minister Mustafa Pourmohammadi also offered his condolences, describing Nasrallah as a symbol of leadership in both the Islamic and global context.

Speaking at Hezbollah’s central office in Tehran, Pourmohammadi praised Nasrallah’s wisdom and bravery, calling him a leader committed to justice who "fought against tyranny with unwavering resolve."

Pourmohammadi also highlighted Nasrallah’s lasting impact on modern history, noting that his life and leadership had transformed global perspectives on Resistance.

He emphasized that the efforts of Resistance leaders, like Nasrallah, had led to a growing awareness among younger generations, particularly Generation Z, who are increasingly questioning traditional narratives on human rights and international justice. According to Pourmohammadi, this new consciousness is especially evident in their rejection of Israel’s actions and its supporters.

High-ranking Iranian officials have continued to visit Hezbollah's Tehran office to express their sympathies after Nasrallah’s assassination. Among those visiting was Ali Baqeri Kani, Secretary of the Strategic Council on Foreign Relations, along with Alireza Zakani, the Mayor of Tehran, Mehdi Chamran, Chairman of the Tehran City Council, and Hadi Tahan Nazif, the Spokesman for the Guardian Council.

They met with Abdullah Safi al-Din, Hezbollah’s representative in Tehran, and signed the memorial book for the fallen leader.
