TEHRAN – The spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry has emphasized that the United States must acknowledge its legal and international obligations regarding its collaboration with the Israeli regime in relation to offenses committed against Palestine, Lebanon, and Syria.

In a statement shared on X on Saturday, Nasser Kanaani condemned Washington’s unconditional backing of Israel in light of the recent violence in Lebanon and Palestine.

Kanaani pointed out that official reports reveal that the death toll from the Israeli assault in southern Beirut has risen to 31, while the total casualties from the recent attacks in Dahieh and two terrorist incidents in Lebanon and Syria amount to 70.

Furthermore, he highlighted that within the last 72 hours, the Israeli regime has resulted in the deaths of 119 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, with an additional 209 individuals injured.

Despite this extraordinary level of violence, Kanaani criticized the steadfast political, military, intelligence, and security support provided by the U.S. government to Israel, as well as its recent defense of the regime's actions in the United Nations Security Council under the false pretense of self-defense.

In separate remarks, Kanaani said that American and Israeli crimes in the region will not help them reach their sinister goals. “These martyrs have given their lives for the cause of al-Quds, and their sacrifice brings the goal of liberating al-Quds closer.”

The sacred defense against the Israeli regime is now playing out on a new scale across the region, the spokesman said, noting that the fate of the Israeli “criminals” will not be different from that of toppled Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein.

"The enemy, upset and vengeful, continues to repeat its past mistakes, and the outcome this time will be even more humiliating.”
