Pezeshkian calls for national unity to confront foreign pressure, domestic challenges
TEHRAN – On Monday, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian renewed his call for national unity as a crucial measure to address the country’s ongoing challenges and withstand external pressures.
Speaking during a meeting with the Intelligence Ministry, the president emphasized the importance of internal solidarity to overcome the difficulties facing the nation.
"You are the true soldiers of the revolution," Pezeshkian remarked, praising the intelligence forces for their dedication and service. He underlined the pivotal role they play in safeguarding the country’s security and stability, highlighting their contributions as essential to the well-being of the nation.
During the meeting, the president stressed that addressing the needs of the Iranian people should be a top priority for the government, suggesting that fulfilling these needs would strengthen the public’s support for the Islamic Establishment. "The more we focus on meeting the people's needs, the greater the popularity of the system will be," he said, underscoring the direct link between effective governance and national stability.
Pezeshkian further elaborated on his administration's commitment to fostering a broad-based, inclusive government. Describing his leadership as a "national consensus government," he pointed out that his administration includes a diverse array of politicians from different political factions. This inclusivity, he argued, is essential for ensuring unity in the face of internal and external challenges.
"We must strive to maintain unity and cohesion within the country," Pezeshkian declared, urging all political groups to put aside differences and work together to build a stronger, more resilient Iran. According to the president, only by promoting national solidarity can the country effectively confront the pressures posed by foreign adversaries and internal issues.
