Resistance confronts Israeli forces in Gaza

Occupation regime massacres 61 more Palestinians in 24 hours

TEHRAN - The Palestinian resistance in the totally blockaded Gaza Strip continues to confront the advancing Israeli occupation forces backed by the United States.

The armed wing of Palestinian Islamic Jihad, the al-Quds brigades, has seized an Israeli reconnaissance aircraft while it was conducting intelligence missions over the central region of the Strip.

The military media of the al-Quds Brigades released footage documenting their fighters targeting Israeli troops and their equipment in the al-Zaytoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City, with mortar shells.

The al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades struck gatherings of Israeli vehicles with mortar shells in eastern Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip.

The forces of Martyr Omar Al-Qasim, the armed wing of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, also targeted the advancing Israeli occupation forces (IOF) in the al-Tannour neighborhood, east of Rafah, with mortar shells.

While the resistance forces in Gaza continues to confront the regime’s troops from advancing, the Israeli army has acknowledged the death of 340 officers and troops since the start of the ground invasion in Gaza.

The number of Israeli army fatalities, whose deaths have been officially announced, has reached 706 since October 7, 2023.

The Israeli military remains secretive about its losses and has maintained its strict media censorship on its casualties and other matters related to the war.

However, the statements and documented footage released by the resistance in Gaza confirm that the number of dead, wounded, and material losses are much greater than what is being publicly disclosed.

This comes after the IOF committed more massacres against civilians across the coastal enclave.

An Israeli missile strike targeted an apartment belonging to a family in the al-Nasr neighborhood, in the northern part of Gaza City. Palestinians have been forced to remove the rubble with their hands to search for bodies and survivors.

In the central part of the Strip, Israeli airstrikes targeted a residential apartment in the al-Bureij refugee camp, killing four civilians and injuring ten others, including children, according to medics from the Palestinian Red Crescent.

Journalists inside Gaza also reported the killing of four civilians and the injury of 15 others after airstrikes hit a tent camp for displaced persons at Halima Al-Saadiya School in Jabalia, in the northern part of the Strip.

Reporters also underlined that the occupation forces carried out consecutive demolitions of buildings in the southern part of al-Sabra neighborhood near Gaza City, and fired from their vehicles in the southern part of the al-Zeitoun neighborhood.

Meanwhile, Palestinians in Beit Lahia were the subject of heavy Israeli artillery shelling.

A series of airstrikes launched by Israeli occupation aircraft on various areas in the northern and central Gaza Strip on Saturday morning killed at least one young girl and injured a number of other civilians.

The Gaza health ministry announced on Saturday that the death toll from the genocidal Israeli war in Gaza rose to 40,939 on Saturday. 94,616 others have sustained injuries since October 7 last year, the ministry said.

It added that the IOF has killed 61 Palestinians and injured 162 others over the past 24 hours.

The United Nations warned on Friday that the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip “is beyond catastrophic”.

UN spokesperson Stephane Dujarric stated that more than one million people in Gaza did not receive food rations in southern and central parts of the Gaza Strip during the month of August.
