TEHRAN – On the occasion of the International Day Against Nuclear Tests, Iran's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office and other International Organizations in Geneva, Ali Bahreini, has issued a strong call for the complete cessation of nuclear testing and the ultimate elimination of nuclear weapons.

Writing on his official X account, Bahreini declared, "Nuclear testing is a threat to our planet and future generations." He further urged global action, stating, "On #InternationalDayAgainstNuclearTests, let's pledge to protect our world by advocating for a complete end to nuclear tests and total elimination of nuclear weapons."

Eight countries – the United States, United Kingdom, France, Russia, China, India, Pakistan, and North Korea – have officially declared possession of nuclear weapons. Despite consistent international appeals for nuclear disarmament and the potential threat of nuclear war, these nations have continued to develop their nuclear arsenals in recent years. The Israeli regime is also believed to possess nukes, with some of its officials suggesting nuclear attacks against Gaza multiple times in the past months.
