TEHRAN- The chief of staff of Iranian Armed Forces has declared that the Islamic Republic of Iran will respond to the actions of the Zionist regime in a measured way.

As reported by ISNA, Major General Mohammad Bagheri made these remarks on Wednesday during a ceremony to honor and introduce the new deputy chief of staff of the Armed Forces. 

Bagheri congratulated Iran’s minister of defense in recognition of Government Week and expressed gratitude to Brigadier General Aziz Nasir Zadeh for his contributions as deputy chief of staff while introducing Brigadier General Ashtiani as his successor.  

Bagheri stated, “We find ourselves in a regional crisis following the Al-Aqsa Storm, with the Zionist regime feeling threatened for its very existence and resorting to extreme measures to sustain itself.”

“The precarious situation of the Zionist regime has even led to doubts among Americans regarding their support for it; nevertheless, the leaders of the Zionist regime continue their criminal actions, perceiving themselves to be on the verge of collapse,” Bagheri added.

He further asserted, “The Islamic Republic of Iran will respond to the crimes of the Zionist regime in a calculated manner,” adding, “The Islamic Republic of Iran has revitalized resistance against the occupiers within the Islamic Ummah. Undoubtedly, U.S. influence is not what it was five years ago, as they are now in a state of decline and struggling to regain their former power.”

Bagheri highlighted the critical nature of Iran’s responsibilities towards the Axis of Resistance, stating that we cannot afford to be complacent, even for a moment. 

“Consequently, we are committed to enhancing our readiness for swift responses to potential threats, bolstering our infrastructure, advancing scientific and technological development, and elevating the quality of our defense products,” he added.

The chief of staff of Iranian Armed Forces further stated that we are currently experiencing optimal synergy and unity within the general staff. 

Bagheri emphasized, “Regardless of uniform distinctions, all commanders and personnel are united in their efforts to progress our initiatives with a comprehensive organizational and national outlook.”

Earlier, Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, pledged a “harsh response” to the Israeli regime for this audacious act of violence on Iranian territory.
