Leader’s representative visits injured Pakistani pilgrims following tragic bus accident

TEHRAN – In the wake of a devastating bus accident involving Arbaeen pilgrims traveling from Pakistan, Ayatollah Mohammadreza Naseri, the Leader’s representative to Yazd province, made a compassionate visit to the injured victims.

The accident, which tragically resulted in the loss of 28 lives and left several others injured, has deeply affected both the Iranian and Pakistani communities.

Early Wednesday morning, Ayatollah Naseri arrived at Shahid Beheshti Hospital in Taft, where many of the injured had been admitted. 

During his visit, Ayatollah Naseri personally checked on the well-being of the victims, speaking with them and the medical staff to ensure that they were receiving the best possible care. 

Expressing his deep sorrow over the tragic event, Ayatollah Naseri extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims in both Pakistan and Iran. 

He conveyed the greetings and sympathy of the Leader of Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, emphasizing the profound sadness felt by the Iranian leadership. 

"The news of this accident, which claimed the lives of 28 people and injured many others, has deeply grieved us all," he stated. "We are committed to doing everything in our power to aid in the recovery of those injured."

Iranian foreign ministry expresses condolences over Pakistani pilgrim bus tragedy  

Nasser Kanaani, the spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, has also expressed deep sorrow over the tragic accident. 

In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter), Kanaani conveyed his condolences to the people of Pakistan and the bereaved families of those who lost their lives in the accident. 

"The death and injury of several dear Pakistani pilgrims due to the overturning of their bus has deeply saddened and affected us," Kanaani wrote on Wednesday. 

Kanaani further assured that the relevant authorities and institutions of the Islamic Republic of Iran are continuing their efforts with utmost diligence, focusing on rescue operations, relief services, and the provision of medical care to the injured.
