TEHRAN- Iran’s president in a meeting with the representatives of Parliament emphasized the necessity of appointing skilled individuals who are impartial to political influences.

Masoud Pezeshkian urged members of Parliament to collaborate with the government in defining the criteria for selecting specialized, effective, and reform-driven executive leaders.

In separate discussions on Sunday evening with representatives from the provinces of Markazi, Guilan, and Mazandaran, Masoud Pezeshkian identified internal discord within the government and between the government and the populace as one of the most significant threats to national security and advancement.

He underscored that the current administration is focused on fostering consensus to bridge these divides and fully leverage Iran’s potential to address its issues.

Iran’s president affirmed the government's dedication to thoroughly executing the vision document, overarching policies, and the five-year plan as essential components of this consensus-building effort.

He noted, “By rallying around these macro policies, a unified approach and practical solutions can be formulated to confront the nation's challenges.”

Pezeshkian pointed out that the inadequate and erroneous implementation of the vision document and macro policies, which are grounded in expert recommendations and sanctioned by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, is a primary factor contributing to the ongoing difficulties in the country.

He also stressed, “Despite varying perspectives, everyone must unite around the Leader's guidance, which should act as a reference for all.”

Pezeshkian emphasized that the recruitment of skilled individuals, free from political influence, marks a pivotal shift in the governance of the nation, aimed at rectifying shortcomings and resolving issues.

He urged members of parliament to assist the government in developing criteria for the selection and appointment of specialized, effective, and innovative executive leaders.

Pezeshkian stated, “We are committed to judiciously distributing the country's limited resources fairly and strategically, prioritizing areas that will yield the greatest benefits for the public.”

He also highlighted the necessity of promoting transparent communication with citizens to foster their engagement in the governance process.

During the meeting, representatives from the provinces of Guilan, Markazi, and Mazandaran raised their primary concerns and issues impacting their regions and broader national challenges. These discussions encompassed the acceleration of unfinished projects, equitable distribution of industrial taxes to the provinces, the implementation of ocean-centric economic initiatives along the northern coasts, addressing the difficulties faced by rice farmers, and the need for improved coordination among the entire cabinet.
