TEHRAN - The Badi’-ol-Hokama Historical-Cultural Complex, now the fourth medical history museum in Iran, was officially inaugurated in Hamedan on Friday.

“Planning for this historical medical complex began two years ago,” said the president of Hamadan University of Medical Sciences. “The goal was to showcase the evolution of the medical profession from its early days to the present and guide future generations.”

Mohammad-Mahdi Majzoubi highlighted that over the past two years, all available resources, documents, and old medical tools were collected from various university departments, provincial healthcare centers, and veteran physicians. These items, he continued, are now on display in the museum.

He further announced plans for a public call to gather more authentic documents and antique medical instruments to enrich the museum’s collection.

The museum, which spans 500 square meters and is housed in a Qajar-era building, is the fourth medical history museum in Iran and unique in western Iran, according to Majzoubi.

He expressed hope that the museum’s expansion will boost tourism and enhance educational resources for students.

“While the structure is now cohesive, additional design work is needed for the surrounding areas to ensure the museum meets high standard” Majzoubi winded up.
